Honorary Bremerton Yacht Club Member and Anderson Island Fire Chief Jim
Bixler presented the Club with an extremely well crafted large Wooden
Captain Statue that stands over 10 feet Tall. The new BYC Captain stands
at the Dock entrance on Oro Bay and is a stately addition to our grounds
as he looks out over the Bay. Please extend your thanks to Jim and
Jeannie next time you see them for their most generous gift. Also I
received a lot of positive feedback about the extensive tree-clearing
project on Oro Bay and the additional seating. Thank you again, Jim for
all of your hard work making Oro Bay an even better place to be.
Al Gonzalez and crew put on a fabulous
Salmon Bake Dinner September 10,
2006. The Alder Grilled Salmon was the best and we had a record number in
member and guests come out for the event.
Sign up soon for the Oktoberfest
chaired by P.C. Bob and Jytte Wheeler on
October 6th this is always a popular event and shouldn't be missed. Also
don't forget to mark your calendar for the Oktoberfest Cruise to Port
Orchard the following weekend.
Preparations have started for the October 28th Junior Officers' Ball at
Bremerton Yacht Club. If you want to volunteer for the committee, please
contact P/C Mark Miller. Hopefully as many of you as possible can attend.
The night will be memorable and the Club House and Grounds will be
transformed into a Navel Base Circa 1943. The Hollywood Road Show will be
on hand to entertain the Troops along with the Glen Miller Orchestra and
will include Dinner, a "USO SHOW" Entertainment, and Dancing. It should be
a spectacular night with guest appearances from stars that will be sure to
surprise you.
I conclude this towline by saying enjoy the rest of summer and thank you
again for your continued support and encouragement.
Best Regards,
Don Hardgrove
