WOW summer is going by quickly. We had a great picnic on the
deck in June. Thanks to Andy and Nancy Kupp and their committee. We
were planning on the picnic shelter, but, no sense in rushing a master
piece like it is turning out to be. The July picnic in the park, will
be in the park, and is after the dead line for this article. It is
chaired by Cathy and Mike Thomas and I'm sure it will be a big hit
also. The August picnic in the park is scheduled for August 19th and
it
is being chaired by Anita and Aaron Bernhard and it is FREE. It is a,
bring a potluck dish, your own something to BBQ and your own beverages.
That's why it's free. Please sign up in the clubhouse. It will be in
our new picnic shelter. In September, the picnic in the park is
scheduled for Sept. 9th. Just after the Labor Day weekend. PC Bob and
Gerri Bachman are chairing that picnic. Please keep a look out for the
flyer and sign up sheet in the club house for that one. I need some
people to step up and volunteer to chair the upcoming Sunday
Breakfasts.
These can be as simple or extravagant as you desire. If you've been on
a committee before, you are qualified to chair one. Please let me
know.
August 7, 8. and 9th will be the Grand 14 Officers Cruise-in to
the BYC. We will be using the Picnic Shelter, Club House, Work Float,
and all the guest moorage and more. Please don't plan on using these
areas that weekend and if you, or one of your friends has moorage near
the guest float, that could be blocked in, please contact the Float
Chairman for alternate moorage if you will be coming or going.
Log Racing - while we are still waiting for a Regatta Chairman
for Power, I'd like to say a couple of words. NOW is the time to take
your boat out and time your speed, turns and starts. Us log racers
would like nothing more that go for a ride on your boat in the sun
shine
and help. We'd rather go now than November. The first club log race
is
coming up in September (check the calendar). It will be a simple
contest to get your feet wet. Please watch for more information about
the upcoming season and contact me if you are interested.
Stacy and I wish you a great remaining summer and hopefully it
will last into November.
