First I would like to thank PC Bob Bachman and the Past Commodore Club for putting on the March 21 Breakfast. Even thou I'm writing this article prior to the breakfast, I'm sure it was a success. Participation in these breakfasts will help determine if we will continue to have these social events in the future. The April 4th breakfast will not happen. Somehow it ended up on Easter Sunday and was just too hard to find someone to chair that one. The May 9th breakfast will happen. It is our traditional Mothers Day breakfast and is usually a big hit. Please plan on attending that one. I will be looking for chairs for my standing committees for next year. If I or another officer ask you to chair something, there was some thought put into the request and you were targeted for the position. Please understand, we have the club we have because of the membership and our fore fathers. We can afford the club because of member participation. You have a responsibility as a member who enjoys the fruits of our labors to be responsible and step up when asked. We officers will not set you up to fail. We didn't ask you if we didn't think you could do the chairmanship. So, please, is asked, step up and do your part. April brings Daffodil and then Opening Day weekends. These weekends are loads of fun and a great opportunity to see other Grand 14 Yacht Clubs. I encourage you to attend these events. Our Heavy Weather is one of the three big weekends in the Puget Sound. These are the other two. Come out and see what the other clubs put on as compared to our Heavy Weather weekend. Sign up sheets in the club house. See you at Daffodil, RC Leo and Stacy Longenecker |
