As I sit down to write this article for September, I wonder, "What
happened to the summer?" Penny and I have finally purchased a home in
East Bremerton and are now in the process of sorting, throwing, and
packing. We make the move August 31st following a week long visit by the
grandchildren and at the same time painting and re-carpeting. A trip to
Oro Bay over the Labor Day weekend will be most welcome!
The Grand 14 Officers' Cruise-In was a huge success with the Class
of 2007 properly installed. Our Club facilities remain the envy of
all! Many thanks to the members for your patience and understanding
during that busy weekend.

As V/C Charlie
Billings mentioned
several times in his
articles
last year, please fill two bags of ice when you take one from the
freezer. I constantly find the freezer less than half full. If I had not
checked a few days before the Cruise-In, we would have been in serious
trouble. For the life of me, I do not see why this continues to be a
problem when the answer is so simple! What has happened to common
courtesy and consideration of others? Isn't this what yachting and this
Club is all about? Enough soapbox, please take time to help.
Again, please take a minute to update your personal data for the upcoming
Annual before it goes to press. All of us rely on the information
contained in that publication for the various functions at the Club and
often if there is an emergency. Please help! [See also: Directory of BYC Members (Restricted

Penny and I look forward to a relaxing fall season and our first General
Meeting on 20 September.
