December 2003 Float Committee Report

Slips awarded:

A.30.c (10) The total length of any vessel occupying an open slip is to include all its gear and any attached equipment including anchors, bow pulpits, swim platforms, and dinghies. It is the responsibility of the owner/member to be certain their vessel will fit the requested or assigned space.

With winter winds approaching it's recommended that you check your mooring lines and, if you are in a boathouse tie your boat so your house cannot be lifted by the wind.

The next Float Meeting is scheduled for Monday Jan. 12th at 1800.

The following trades have been approved: PC Burwell # 340 to #310, Capt. Bob Miller #310 to # 345, Ex Commodore Rumbolt # 345 to #340.

Capt. Joe Walsh was the only bidder for slip #345 and has agreed to buy boat and boathouse from Capt. Bob Miller.

Capt. Bill Baker (next in line) was awarded Boathouse Space # 346 last month after PC Woodard withdrew his application. This change did not get to the Tow Line in time.

September Float Committee Report

A.30.b. (2) "A String South Club Cover Maximum Length shall be defined as the open waterway between the walkway and a line that extends along the outside edge of the pilings securing the south club cover.
Approximately 42 feet.

A.30.b (3) The total length of any vessel occupying a club-cover space is to include all its gear and any attached equipment including anchors, bow pulpits, swim platforms, and dinghies. It is the responsibility of the owner/member to be certain their vessel will fit the requested or assigned space.

The following trades have been requested: PC Burwell # 340 to #310, Capt. Bob Miller #310 to # 345, Ex Commodore Rumbolt # 345 to 340. See float Regulations for minimum and maximum slip sizes. The above slips are being offered contingent the above Captains being awarded the slips requested. As with all advertised slips any BYC member can bid on these slips.

If the above trades go through Capt. Bob Miller will offer slip # 345 (17-19X50-55) for bid contingent on sale of boat and boathouse.

The Float Committee has approved as per Float Regulations A.30.a and A.30.a (1) Commodore Bachman's request to increase his boat shed size to 19X50 the maximum allowed for his slip # 326 on "B" String North.

The next Float Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 14th at 1900.
