Program: After dinner Mr. Larry Cheek will present a slide show and narrative derived from his new book, "The Year of the Boat" combining beauty, imperfection and the art of doing it yourself. Mr. Cheek has written fifteen nonfiction books on travel, architecture, nature and prehistoric North America. Prior to partial retirement, he taught nonfiction writing at the University of Washington and currently works as architecture critic for the Seattle Post Intelligencer. Larry divides his free time among sailing, kayaking, hiking and boatbuilding. There will be a question and answer period at the end with books for sale for about $24.00 each.
