BREMERTON YACHT CLUB HEAVY WEATHER 2007

Heavy Weather Weekend at Bremerton Yacht Club will kick off on Friday evening, February 16, with a wine tasting party - perfect for some proper social and pre-racing attitude adjustment. Following a continental breakfast in the clubhouse Saturday morning, the agenda for the rest of the day will focus on preparations for the evening's entertainment of skits to be performed by the visiting yacht clubs . This year's theme is "Brem-a-loha", which leaves far too much to the imagination. Preceding the skit performances will be a social hour and the "Bremaluahula" with authentic Luau Cuisine. After-dinner entertainment begins with the visiting clubs performing their skits with their best thespian talents in the hopes of winning the infamous "Rubber Clam Gun Award". Following the skit awards will be live music for your dancing pleasure to top the evening off.

Sunday will see the running of the 73rd Annual BYC Heavy Weather Navigation Contest. Contest day will begin with morning check-in for the contestants and observer assignment (openings are available for more volunteer observers). This year the course to be navigated will only be about 18 miles long and will allow for early finish times (before 1400 hours) for those wanting to return home on Sunday. Those folks with high energy levels are invited to continue their weekend fun with another dinner Sunday evening which will be followed by the race awards and live music for even more dancing pleasure.

The finishing touch for the Heavy Weather Weekend comes Monday morning when a full breakfast will be available in the clubhouse; just the thing to ready you for your trip back home.

For those arriving by boat, moorage will be available at BYC, as usual. For those desiring to view the "rebirth" of downtown Bremerton, moorage is available at the downtown public marina. Heavy Weather Weekend information, schedules and registration forms will be available on the BYC website at www.bremertonyachtclub.org .
