P/C Longenecker, before travelling to Hawaii, sent us three articles which we post here together but link separately from the Home Page.

First. Since I'll be fleet captain starting in May, I would like to have this little article included in the April Towline. I'll have the actual flyer in the May Towline.

Memorial Day Cruise
The Memorial Day Cruise will, again, be to Oro Bay, our outstation. We will have our annual picnic extravaganza put on by the Anderson Island Fire Department. The weekend will be filled with fun and games. There will also be games for the kids this year. Please put this cruise weekend on your calendar.

Thanks,
Future Fleet Captain,
P/C Leo Longenecker

Regatta for Power Report

Heavy Weather contest was a great success for BYC. We took 9 of the 18 class and overall trophies. Congratulations to Chuck Silvernail for taking first overall. His time for first overall. BYC also is able to keep the team trophy in house again this year. Captain Silvernail, Captain Ritter, Captain Hensley and P/C Longenecker comprised the winning team of the 4 best scores. All the results were published in the last Towline article. Thanks again to P/C Rumbold for arranging the observers. Thanks to the log babes, Denise, Stacy, and Maralee again for helping with log check in. The contest had high scores which is just exactly what I had hoped for. The way log racing should be.

Meydenbauer Bay YC had their IPBA contest on March 4th. BYC had one entry P/C Mike and Billie Henry. They took second overall with a .30% error. Good job Mike and Billie.

The upcoming contests in April are: April 1st the QCYC SYC Eagle Harbor contest, and the Olympia Governor's Cup on April 8th. I will try to get the logs printed and on the wall by the club store. They are also available on the IPBA web site which is also linked from the BYC site.

Thanks,
P/C Leo Longenecker

Liability Insurance I have reviewed the insurance renewal notifications received by BYC recently. Approximately one quarter of the members or insurance companies have not provided notice of renewal. I expected this to happen. I have sent out about 70 letters recently to notify those from whom I have not received their renewal notification. These renewals go way back to last summer. If you got one of these letters, please contact your insurance company and insist they include BYC on your policy for automatic notification. This is standard for all the insurance companies and they should comply. It is your responsibility. You can not provide the notice. It must come from the insurance company via mail or a fax. Moorage will not be granted if proof of insurance is not in hand at the float committee meeting. If you are a new member and want moorage some day, please comply with the insurance regulation.

Thanks,
P/C Leo Longenecker
