Thank you!
To Our Special Neighbors:

The Bremerton Yacht Club would like to thank everyone who helped with the 2004 Special People's Cruise in early December. Without your generous support, the event could not have become the widely acknowledged success it was. A big "thank you!" to all the volunteers who were part of the smooth operations on land and on the water and to the officers of the various organizations which provided the resources and logistic support.

The following organizations and individuals deserve particular appreciation for their contributions:

Kitsap Credit Union donated funds and organized volunteer helpers; Kitsap Transit provided transportation on land (Access Program) and on the water (two large ferries); members of the Bremerton High School's basketball team helped escort the special people to their assigned boats and lift the participants with wheelchairs onto the ferries; Seafair provided "gifts from Santa"; and other yacht clubs from Brownsville, Poulsbo & Port Orchard sent additional boats, so the estimated 300 Special People and their caregivers would find a place. Many thanks also go to so many of our fellow club members and their families who lent a hand or their boats and thereby made it all possible.

Thank you editors and reporters of many of the local media for your cooperation in getting the word out.

Last, but not least, we would like to thank you, our guests and your caregivers, for having this gleam and twinkle in your eyes when you came back from your boats and thanked us so profusely for the experience and joy you allowed us to provide.

Hope we will see you all again next year.

Happy holidays!

Bremerton Yacht Club
